I managed to get some writing done while I was wandering through the brain fog after melanoma surgery, but I wasn't allowed to do any kind of exercise. And honestly, I wasn't in much of a mood for it. I felt pretty demotivated.
My PT, Darren, came around this afternoon, however, and we loaded up the barbell for a deadlift session. It feels like the engine has kicked over again.
I did a bit of a climb up the ladder and back down again.
Nobody is really interested, but I'll post the sequence here because it makes it more likely I’ll do something tomorrow when I wake up and see this.
Warm up sets.
2 sets 3 reps x 70kg.
Working sets.
2 sets 6 reps x 100kg
2 sets 3 reps x 120kg
2 sets 1 rep 140kg
2 sets 3 reps x 120kg
2 sets 6 reps x 100kg
1 set 10 reps (touch and go) 70kgs.
I like the sequence because you never get stuck in the grind of just angry lifting your way through, say, 5 x 5. And once I've done the one rep peak in the middle, there's a nice slide down the back of the hill on the other side.
Sometimes I get a little support.
